After what was potentially a 2018 NBA Finals preview on Saturday night with the Golden State Warriors' 109-105 victory over the Boston Celtics, superstar forward Kevin Durant was asked about a devastating injury that occurred earlier that day to one of his former Oklahoma City Thunder teammates in Andre Roberson.
During the third quarter of the Thunder's 121-108 win against the Detroit Pistons, Roberson appeared to slip and fall on a wet spot and had his left leg buckle.
“It's sickening. Just seeing Dre's [injury] in the locker room. Somebody I got to spend so much time with, got to know, somebody I call family. It's tough to see because you work so hard. He had a couple nagging injuries that he continued to push through and kept getting better as a player and get more confident,” Durant said of Roberson.
Durant believes that Roberson will be able to bounce back and make a full recovery.

“I know his heart, I know his strength and I know he's going to want the team to keep fighting and get better as quickly as possible,” Durant said. “I know he's got such a huge support system with his family there around him. I'm looking forward to seeing him back on the court again. My prayers are up for Dre.”

Roberson's scary injury happened just one day after New Orleans Pelicans star center DeMarcus Cousins ruptured his left Achilles tendon in the final minute of a game against the Houston Rockets.
