New Philadelphia 76ers president of basketball operations Daryl Morey is already getting to know All-Star big man Joel Embiid.

Morey, who was introduced to the Sixers media on Monday, tweeted out a FaceTime call he had with Embiid.

Joel Embiid is the best player on the Sixers. The three-time All-Star has career averages of 23.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 209 NBA games.

Daryl Morey made it clear with Sixers reporters that he's not looking to split up Embiid and Ben Simmons. The former Houston Rockets general manager believes he can build a winner around the two All-Stars.

Philly got swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2020 playoffs at Walt Disney World. Simmons didn't play against the Celtics after suffering a knee injury that required surgery. The team fired Brett Brown as head coach and hired former Los Angeles Clippers tactician Doc Rivers as his replacement.

It's going to be fascinating to see what moves Morey does make with the Sixers. No one made more trades in the NBA than Morey did with the Rockets.

Most pundits believe Philadelphia needs more shooting around Simmons and Embiid. The team desperately missed J.J. Redick in 2019-20, as the Sixers let him walk in free agency in 2019.

No one knows when the 2020-21 season is going to start, but the transaction period will begin shortly after the 2020 Draft. With that being said, don't be surprised if Morey already has some tricks up his sleeve.
