Former Philadelphia 76ers guard Ben Simmons' exit from the franchise will go down as one of the most scrutinized stories in NBA history. Seemingly every fan in Philadelphia had a take on Simmons- almost certainly not a good one- and the 76ers players were constantly peppered with questions on the disgruntled star to the point where his eventual trade to the Brooklyn Nets was likely a relief for some. Fellow Nets teammate and former Sixers guard Seth Curry, who was traded to Brooklyn along with Simmons, has a truly shocking take on the latter's exit from Philadelphia, via ESPN.

“Business is business,” Curry told ESPN after Thursday's shootaround. “I said from day [one], even when he was out early in the season, people were asking me if I feel like, if Ben comes back, should he apologize to us or whatever? I understand the business; he doesn't need to apologize to anybody. When he's on the court, I know he's going to do his job and he's going to do what he does. So I understand the business. He was doing what he felt was best for himself business-wise and personal-wise.

Seth Curry feels that Ben Simmons “doesn't need to apologize to anybody” for his exit from the Sixers. Curry said that Simmons did the best thing for himself and that “business is business”, in regard to his trade to the Nets.

That's certainly shocking, not only because there aren't many willing to step up to the plate to defend Simmons, but also because there are a lot of angry Sixers fans out there who feel like they were slapped in the face by Simmons.
