Now that Landon Collins has called it a day with the New York Giants, Big Blue needs to consider taking on Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to replace him.

The Giants opted not to place the franchise tag on Landon Collins. As a result, SB Nation has confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs have made recruiting him a priority.

But here's the thing: The Chiefs are going to have to work to get Collins to move to the Midwest.

“The Chiefs will need to get creative if they hope to land Collins. However, sense around the league during the NFL Combine is that Collins would be among Kansas City’s prime targets if he reached free agency. After reportedly releasing Justin Houston, the Chiefs would create $14 million in additional cap space this offseason. General manager Brett Veach could essentially swap Houston for Collins and pair him alongside Eric Berry. Familiarity with defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo could also help lead Collins to Kansas City. It is no secret that the Chiefs aim to bolster their defense this offseason, and Collins would push them closer to reaching the Super Bowl.”

Whatever the case, Collins and Big Blue have parted ways.

That brings us to Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. The interestingly-named player is nothing to joke about: He played college football at Alabama, winning two national championships.

If there is a point of uncertainty about Clinton-Dix, some NFL observers would note that in Green Bay, he has not had a lot of help from the other members of the Packers' defense, which has been vulnerable in recent years and has failed to bring Aaron Rodgers to a second Super Bowl. (Last year was not reflective of the past several seasons of Packer football, given Rodgers' struggles. Previous seasons revealed a frail Green Bay defense, leading some people to wonder if Clinton-Dix's successes should be magnified or diminished.)

Clinton-Dix was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft and was chosen for the 2017 Pro Bowl. He was also ranked as the top safety prospect in the 2014 draft by NFL analyst Mike Mayock. He was ranked as the top free safety by DraftScout.com five years ago, and was ranked the second-best safety by Sports Illustrated.

This type of success makes it curious as to why teams haven't snapped up Dix sooner — but according to CBS Sports, he is actually building up his value. The 26-year-old safety has recorded 355 total tackles and 14 interceptions since entering the league in 2014. Per CBS Sports, that means he is valuated at nearly $50 million.

That also means Ha Ha Clinton-Dix would be the second-highest-paid player in the league, behind none other than Landon Collins.

In a nutshell, then, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is nothing if not an asset, one who would serve the New York Giants well.
