The game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs that was supposed to be played on Sunday has been postponed, prompting a change in what NFL game will be displayed on television. According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, the game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears will replace the Patriots and Chiefs game in the late-game window.

Seeing that the matchup between the Patriots and Chiefs was one between two premier teams, it was scheduled to be programmed on CBS. The bout between Cam Newton and Patrick Mahomes was enough to be the game that was expected to be displayed for fans to watch.

However, on Saturday morning, Newton tested positive for COVID-19 and was ruled out for the game. The dual-threat quarterback was also placed on the COVID-19 reserve list, making it uncertain when he'll return to the Patriots.

In addition to Newton, the Chiefs also announced that Jordan Ta'amu tested positive for COVID-19. The news of Newton's positive test coupled with Ta'amu's positive test led the NFL to postpone the game from Sunday.

As of this moment, the league would prefer to conduct the game on Monday or Tuesday, with Tuesday being the most likely outcome. But with both teams having the possibility of having more positive tests in the coming days, there's still a chance the game happens at another time.

Instead of getting to watch the Patriots and the Chiefs, fans will now be watching the Colts and the Bears in the 4:15 p.m EST window on Sunday. Given that, everyone will have a chance to see Nick Foles make his first start with the Bears in Week 4.
