Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase has had quite a historic playoff run so far, and he has now reached a notable feat in the 2022 AFC Championship Game clash with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Chase was a standout talent in the Bengals’ playoff wins over the Las Vegas Raiders and Tennessee Titans. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow looked for Chase plenty of times in both contests, and the rookie responded with a combined 14 receptions for 225 receiving yards.

Entering the Bengals’ AFC title game against the Chiefs, Chase needed a mere 18 receiving yards to surpass longtime wideout Torry Holt’s record (242 receiving yards in the 1999 campaign) for the most such yards by a rookie in a single postseason. It took Chase a while, but his 22-yard reception in the third quarter of the game gave him this record.

Chase has continued to reach milestone after another so far in the playoffs. For one, he became the first rookie in NFL playoff history to notch at least two 100-receiving yard games in a single postseason, which is quite impressive considering that the likes of Hall of Fame receivers Randy Moss and Jerry Rice did not achieve this accomplishment during their respective rookie campaigns.

Chase sure has orchestrated one of the more prolific seasons by any rookie in NFL history — and he may not be done just yet in reaching superb feats in the ongoing playoffs.
