The Detroit Lions have been down Matthew Stafford for the last three weeks. Now, they are apparently down backup quarterback Jeff Driskel, as well.

Per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, third-string signal-caller David Blough will be under center when the Lions take on the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving Day.

Stafford has been out with a back injury. Meanwhile, Driskel has been dealing with a sore hamstring, an injury he sustained during his team's loss to the Washington Redskins last Sunday.

If Stafford and Driskel are both inactive for Thanksgiving, Detroit's backup quarterback for the game will likely be tight end Logan Thomas, who played quarterback at Virginia Tech.

Blough, who played his collegiate football at Purdue and has not taken a snap in 2019, went undrafted but eventually landed with the Lions.

The 24-year-old spent four seasons at Purdue, posting mixed results.

In his freshman year, he threw for 1,574 yards, 10 touchdowns, and eight interceptions. The following year, he became a full-time starter, finishing with 3,352 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 21 picks.

After his turnover-happy sophomore campaign, Blough was demoted back into a reserve role for his junior season, but he regained the starting job for the Boilermakers in his senior year, throwing for 3,705 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions while completing 66 percent of his passes and posting a passer rating of 146.9 in what was, by far, the most productive season of his NCAA tenure.

The Lions have lost four games in a row and seven of their last eight overall. They are 3-7-1 on the season.
