Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered a hamstring injury and a sprained ankle in Detroit's 27-24 loss to Carolina on Sunday, per Dan Graziano via ESPN’s Michael Rothstein.

Stafford appeared on Mitch Albom’s radio show in Detroit on Monday and declined to comment about the status of his injuries. And when he was asked if he would play on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, Stafford said, “I don't know yet. We'll see.”

Stafford said he and the Lions are holding information regarding his injuries because they believe it offers a “competitive advantage or disadvantage.”

“Why would you want another team to know exactly what's going on with you if you don't have to mention it?” Stafford said. “Obviously, the reports come out and all that kind of stuff, and that's about as much information as we're as a team going to get out.

“There's no real win in telling everybody in America what's going on with ya, right? ‘What's the positive' is how I look at it.”

Jake Rudock is the only other quarterback currently on the Lions' roster besides Stafford and could possibly start in the Saints game if Stafford can't go. However, Rudock hasn’t taken a single snap in an NFL regular season game since entering the league in 2016.

Stafford has started every game at quarterback for the Lions since the start of the 2011 season. His 104-game consecutive start streak is currently the fourth-longest active streak among quarterbacks behind Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, and Matt Ryan.
