Green Bay Packers' superstar wide receiver Davante Adams has long been considered one of the best in the entire league.

He is routinely right near the top of the leaderboard when it comes to receiving touchdowns. His receptions and receiving yards also tend to be pretty high up on the list.

The offense that Adams is in also helps his case when it comes to fantasy football. Playing on the Packers, Adams is on a team with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time in Aaron Rodgers.

Although Rodgers may be starting to decline in production a little bit, he's still one of the best in the league. And he's still going to hit his targets much more often than not. That means Adams will get his stats.

At the same time, Green Bay has not exactly been great when it comes to building around Rodgers. That means that the wide receiver group outside of Adams has not been great in the last few years.

While this means defenses' tend to look his way, it also means so does Rodgers. And there is no one in the offense even coming close to threatening to take the top spot from their clear-cut best wide receiver.

So you can be assured that 2020 should be another great year for Adams. How good though? Let's take a look back at his past, think about his present and try to guess his future. Here is the 2020 fantasy football outlook for Davante Adams.

2019 Fantasy Stats

Unsurprisingly, Adams had another strong year in 2019. He managed 83 receptions for 997 yards and five touchdowns.

In a full season, those would still be really good stats. The receptions were the 18th most in the NFL, while the yards were 30th and the touchdowns were 42.

So that's a pretty strong season. Nothing spectacular for someone considered a superstar, but still really good.

Then you look at the games though, and realize Adams did that all in just 12 games.

So now let's put those numbers on pace for a 16 game season. That's 111 receptions for 1,329 yards and seven touchdowns.

Suddenly, Adams is right near the top of all those categories again.

Of course, that's not how fantasy football works. You don't just get to project the numbers. Adams missed four games, which severely hurt his numbers and definitely made things a little bit more dicey for his fantasy football owners.

Davante Adams definitely gave more positives than negatives though.

One of his biggest positives was consistency. Adams had eight games with at least seven receptions. He also had five games with over 100 receiving yards. That means he had some big fantasy games. And it's not like he just did it once or twice while faltering the rest of the year.

In fact, Adams only had one multi-score game. Which means he had touchdowns in four different weeks. While that does not sound that high, it's a good number for someone with just five receiving touchdowns.

Oh, and that two touchdown game? It came in a week where Adams had less than seven receptions and less than 100 receiving yards.

Adams put up great overall numbers, and was giving his owners strong production weekly. Well, in the weeks he was playing.

2020 Fantasy Projections

Adams once again is expected to be one of the best wide receivers in all of football. And that will in turn lead him to be one of the best wide receivers in all of fantasy football. That probably should not surprise anyone.

Adams has all the same positives and negatives as he's had in the past. Green Bay boasts Rodgers at quarterback.

And yes, he has not been as productive over the last few seasons as he was in the past. But this is still Aaron Rodgers we're talking about.

I mean, just look at his 2019 season. If anyone else threw for 4,002 yards and 26 touchdowns while throwing just four interceptions, they would be praised. Especially if they did it with the weapons (or lack thereof) Rodgers' has. But since it's expected of him, he was seen as declining.

Meanwhile, Adams is in his prime. 2018 was the best year of his career, and 2019 would not have been far behind it had it not been for the injury.

And before you worry about the injury, Adams missed four games last season. He had missed five games in the previous five years combined. This is not something you have to fear too much. Injuries are not a big part of his game.

Meanwhile, Green Bay did very little to address their wide receiver situation. That means Adams is 100% still the main attraction in the passing game. And defenses have still not shown anything to suggest they've figured out a way to stop him.

2020 should be another great year for Adams. And as for fantasy wise, you could expect him to get back to almost a full slate of games. In doing so, he could very easily top 100 receptions and 1,000 yards.

If we had to throw exact numbers on it, let's go with 108 receptions for 1,320 yards and 12 touchdowns. That sounds like wide receiver one production if you ask me.

The consistency will be there too. Davante Adams is going to give you strong production most weeks. And on the weeks where he's “off” his game, the production should still be more than good enough to justify having him in your lineup. Don't expect him to give you many “stinkers”, if any at all.

Rank At Position

It's always tough to try and rank someone at their position. Because there are so many different variables. Not only are you worried about all the variables with this player in particular, but now you have to look at everyone.

Julio Jones is always going to make a case for the number one fantasy receiver, as is DeAndre Hopkins.

Odell Beckham Jr. could be on course for a massive bounce back year, and Michael Thomas is coming off a 2019 where he broke the single season receptions record with an absolutely incredible 149.

Chris Godwin and Mike Evans will be extremely interesting to watch with Tom Brady now at quarterback. Meanwhile, Keenan Allen and Devante Parker deserve tons of respect.

There are quite a few other star wide receivers, as well as sophomores looking to capitalize on massive rookie seasons. Terry McLaurin, A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf come to mind immediately in that category.

Adams has easy top-5 potential though. Just look at 2018, when he was sixth in receptions, seventh in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns.

Don't be surprised if the wide receiver finds himself in the top-10 again, or even top-5, of all those categories in 2020.

Davante Adams could absolutely be a top-5 fantasy football receiver, and could even creep into the top-3 territory. He's definitely someone you should be considering early in your fantasy football leagues.

You definitely won't want to be facing off against him, he could give you headaches.
