Despite winning back-to-back NFL MVPs, Aaron Rodgers is still openly pondering stepping away from football.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday after winning The Match, an exhibition golf event featuring Rodgers, Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen, the Green Bay Packers signal-caller admitted that he “sees the end coming.”

“I think about it all the time,” Rodgers said, per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “When you commit, you’re 100 percent. But the older you get, the interests change, and the grind, I think, wears on you a little more. . . . The football part is the easy part. That’s the joy. It’s the other stuff that wears on you and makes you think about life after football. Tommy obviously set the bar so high with playing so many years, but I can definitely see the end coming.”

Aaron Rodgers came under immense scrutiny last season for initially suggesting he was vaccinated against COVID-19, only to later reveal he was alluding to alternative forms of preemptive treatment when he tested positive for the virus. He missed just one game with COVID, though continued haranguing against vaccine mandates and public health measures, even spreading misinformation about vaccine side effects.
