Aaron Rodgers decided to return to the Green Bay Packers on a fat new contract, and the assumption now is that he'll be there for at least another few seasons based on how the contract is structured. Somewhere Rodgers won't be is at the Packers' voluntary offseason program, according to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
This isn't surprising in any way given where Rodgers is at in his career:
Regarding Rodgers not showing up for the off-season: remember, he has a $50K workout bonus (as I first reported, thank you very much) that requires him to show up for 3 days. So, this is not news to the #Packers. If he wants to show up any other time, he can. It’s all voluntary. https://t.co/sciBVMkQIB

Rodgers skipped this offseason program before last season as well and then went on to win MVP once again. It's truly not that big a deal, and if anything perhaps it will give Packers youngster Jordan Love more time to shine.
Article Continues BelowRodgers is expected to attend the mandatory minicamp in June, and that's it for the offseason. Again, given his status and track record, this isn't a problem and was probably expected by Green Bay.
The Packers will look to regroup in 2022 after a dreadful playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers and the departure of star wide receiver Davante Adams in a trade to the Las Vegas Raiders. Rodgers will have to build a rapport with a new group of wideouts, but he'll have plenty of time to do that leading up to the season even without attending this voluntary program. As of right now, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb are the top two receivers on the depth chart.
Meanwhile, Rodgers will surely spend the next few months chilling and enjoying himself ahead of mandatory minicamp.
