It's that time of the year when fans share their disdain for the Madden ratings. Aaron Rodgers may have a legitimate gripe for his rating. Ahead of the release of Madden 21, the Green Bay Packers quarterback was revealed to have his lowest Madden rating since 2009.

To no one's surprise, Patrick Mahomes is the lone quarterback to boast a 99 overall rating in Madden 21. Besides Mahomes, the only quarterbacks to receive a rating 90 overall or higher was Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson, Drew Brees, and Tom Brady. The noticeable omission from that list is Rodgers.

Over the years, Rodgers has typically been one of the highest-rated players in the Madden video game. As a matter of fact, similar to Mahomes, Rodgers was once a 99 overall in Madden 16.

However, after somewhat of a down season, the veteran signal-caller is listed as an 89 overall. While that isn't a huge drop-off, he played just as well — if not better — than Brees and Brady.

In his first season under Matt LaFleur, Rodgers threw for 4,002 yards, 26 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. Even though his numbers were down from previous seasons, his struggles mostly came due to the lack of weapons he had in Green Bay. Aside from Davante Adams, his second-best wide receiver was Aaron Jones.

Once again, the release of Madden ratings typically stirs controversy during the offseason. And this time around, the employees at EA Sports have definitely ruffled some Packers' fans feathers. At the same time, Rodgers may have something to say about his rating once the 2020 season begins.
