The Green Bay Packers look like one of the NFL's hottest teams through two weeks. Green Bay is 2-0 after two dominant wins, thanks in large part to their smothering defense. The acquisition of Micah Parsons is truly working out exactly as the Packers thought it would.
Packers QB Jordan Love's recent interview with Kurt Warner was featured on NFL GameDay on Sunday morning.
Love admitted that he was shocked that his trade quip about Micah Parsons actually ended up coming true.
“Is there anybody particularly around the league that you feel like should come into the organization and make an impact for you?” Parsons asked Love during a podcast episode back in February.
“I mean, the dude sitting right next to me man,” Love answered, referring to Parsons. “You know what I mean? That would be pretty cool.”
Warner asked Love if he's taking any credit for that conversation sparking the actual trade that landed Parsons in Green Bay.
“Man I wish I could you know,” Love replied. “We did that podcast back [around the Super Bowl]… You know you have no idea what's gonna happen. Obviously Micah [was] with the Cowboys and I'm just throwing it out kind of poking for fun. Because obviously it would be really cool to get a player like that. But in the back of my head I'm like this is never gonna happen.”
But sometimes dreams really do come true.
The Micah Parsons trade immediately transformed the Packers into NFC contenders

The Packers felt like they were one player away from contending in the NFC. It turns out that Parsons really is that player.
Parsons has completely changed the face of Green Bay's defense. It has only been two games, but they already look like a completely different unit.
Green Bay has only allowed 189.5 passing yards per game and 48.5 rushing yards per game through two weeks. Both of those are top 10 in the NFL, with their rushing defense one of the league's best.
Give credit to defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, whose defensive scheme helped the Packers during the 2024 season. But he can take things to the next level with Parsons on the defensive line.
It will be fascinating to see if the Packers truly unleash Parsons as a full-time starter in Week 3.
Packers at Browns kicks off at 1PM ET on Sunday.
