Green Bay Packers s cornerback Jaire Alexander is coming off a stellar 2018 NFL season. It seems his impact went far beyond what most stat sheets would measure.

Alexander established himself as one of the best rookies in his draft class. According to Pro Football Focus, he was arguably one of the best coverage players in the league as well:

The Packers selected Alexander with 18th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. It is safe to say that they struck gold this time around as the rookie has made quite the impression on teammates such as quarterback Aaron Rodgers and wide receiver Davante Adams. Of course, their admiration is certainly understandable considering what he has brought to the table.

Alexander finished the 2018 campaign with 66 tackles, 11 pass defenses, and an interception after starting in 11 games. His emergence would pay huge dividends for Green Bay after their secondary had been riddled with injuries. He saw his workload increase tremendously after Kevin King and Bashaud Breeland went down. Fortunately, he proved to be more than up to the challenge.

It is no secret that the Packers have undergone some substantial changes to their roster this offseason. While there are still plenty of voids to fill on both sides of the ball, they can at least take solace in the fact that Alexander has the makings of a premier shutdown corner. This will go a long way in addressing the team's needs moving forward.
