Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb is expected to make his return from a two-game absence in Week 13 against the Arizona Cardinals, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Cobb has missed six of the Packers' 11 games thus far due to a lingering hamstring injury. However, he said a few days ago that he would help Aaron Rodgers “light up everybody” against the Cardinals.
In the five games he's played this season, Cobb has racked up just 26 catches for 258 yards and just one touchdown. However, he had nine catches for 142 yards and that score in the Packers’ remarkable comeback win in the first game of the season against the Chicago Bears.
Article Continues BelowCobb’s presence has been missed in a Packers offense which has struggled this season, particularly on the road. With both Cobb and Geronimo Allison out, Rodgers has had to rely on rookie Marquez Valdes-Scantling to step up as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Davante Adams.
But after a bright start, Valdes-Scantling has struggled during the Packers’ recent two-game losing skid as he totaled just two catches for 11 yards in those games. Fellow rookie Equanimeous St. Brown had one of his best games of the season last week against the Vikings as he had three catches for 53 yards.
Despite their disappointing 4-6-1 record, the Packers should still have more than enough to beat the 2-9 Cardinals at home even without Cobb. But on the bright side, Cobb will get a chance to get up to speed ahead of the Packers’ last few games of the season as they look to make an improbable playoff run.
