On Tuesday, the Green Bay Packers signed free agent place kicker Dominik Eberle. This comes amid another tough season for Packers longtime kicker Mason Crosby.

Crosby missed a career-high nine field goal attempts in 2021. That led the NFL in missed field goals. Crosby has spent all 15 years of his pro career with the Packers. He has had a mostly up and down career in Green Bay, making 81 percent of his career field goal attempts.
Article Continues BelowEberle made his NFL debut in Week 16 last season for the Houston Texans. He made two of his three field goal attempts, including a 51-yarder. He made all five of his extra points. Texans' kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn missed that game due to COVID-19 regulations.
Eberle went undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft and spent time with the Carolina Panthers and Texans before being released this offseason. Eberle was a standout kicker at Utah State. After posting two mediocre seasons as a sophomore and a junior, Eberle made 21 of 24 kicks his senior season. He also finished his college career hitting all 167 extra point attempts.
The Packers have been trying to do whatever they can to make sure quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns to Green Bay. Although this is not a massive move, it's another sign that Green Bay is looking to make whatever adjustments needed to improve.
