The relationship between Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers when both players were on the Green Bay Packers was not strong, as one might expect given how they were competing for the same job.
The Packers legends have seemed to have strengthened their relationship with one another and the latest example came on Tuesday when Rodgers appeared on The Pat McAfee Show. During his appearance, Rodgers discussed how he has ‘love' for Favre and has ‘always had a great appreciation for him' but being in a ‘power struggle' complicated things.
“I love Brett, I always had a great appreciation for him but we were caught in the middle of a power struggle,” Rodgers said.

The relationship that Favre and Rodgers had with each other was poor ever since Rodgers was selected 24th overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. When asked about if he would help teach the rookie quarterback, Favre stated that his ‘contract doesn't I have to get Aaron Rodgers ready to play.'
“My contract doesn't say I have to get Aaron Rodgers ready to play. Now hopefully he watches me and gets something from that,” Favre said in 2005, via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.
It wasn't until after the 2007 season that the Packers moved on from Favre and embraced Rodgers as their full-time starting quarterback. That decision ultimately proved to be the right one for Green Bay considering the tremendous success that Rodgers has achieved in his career.
Time typically heals all wounds, or at least most of them. Being far removed from angling for the same job has greatly helped to repair their relationship. It probably helps that Favre has been able to see the greatness of Rodgers' career and see that the decision wasn't baseless.
