The Jacksonville Jaguars suffered yet another loss in Week 16. The Jags fell to the lackluster New York Jets on Sunday with a final score of 26-21. In the loss, problems within the organization became even clearer. The lack of a head coach, multiple injuries and weaknesses were all on display at MetLife Stadium. Let's take a look at the three biggest takeaways from Week 16 for the broken Jaguars team.

Jaguars Week 16 Takeaways

3. Importance of James Robinson

The tone of the Jaguars vs Jets was set pretty early on, when James Robinson left the game with a non-contact injury. The running back did not return after suffering a torn Achilles and has since been placed on Injured Reserve. Needless to say, this is a huge loss for the Jacksonville organization, and the loss is partly attributed to Robinson's absence.

The running back is the Jaguars' top rusher with 767 yards this season. He also has scored the most touchdowns for the team with eight. The second most productive player in the end zone is wide receiver Marvin Jones, who has three touchdowns on the year. If Robinson hadn't gotten hurt, there's a high chance that this close game could've gone in favor of the Jaguars.

2. Need for a leader

It's no secret that the Jaguars are in the market for a new head coach. Urban Meyer was fired in his first year as the head coach, thanks to a brutal season and a lot of controversy. Despite getting rid of Meyer, things haven't really changed for the Jaguars in the past couple of weeks. They are still on a losing streak, and the Week 16 loss made it seven in a row.

Now more than ever, it's time to find a leader for this team. Trevor Lawrence is finishing up his first season as a quarterback in the NFL, and it's been tough to say the least. He needs someone to be there and help him rebuild this team if the Jaguars have any chance at any success anytime soon.

Fortunately for Lawrence and the Jaguars, there have been many reports of potential head coaches for Jacksonville. The organization has been talking and working on interviews with multiple high quality candidates. At this point, it will be whoever is up for the challenge.

1. It's closing time

The loss put another nail in the Jaguars' playoff coffin. The 2-13 team will be golfing instead of playing football this postseason, and that has been the case for a few weeks now. They were officially eliminated from playoff contention when they lost to the Tennessee Titans 20-0 in Week 14, the last time Meyer was the head coach.

However, this loss is a little different than their other 12. It resulted in an injury to their top rusher and touchdown producer, and it was to the mediocre-at-best Jets. The loss definitely depleted any last morale that the Jaguars had left, and I don't think they have much momentum to push them through the last two weeks of the season.
