Following the Jacksonville Jaguars loss against the Houston Texans in Week 2, Jalen Ramsey requested a trade from the team. Shad Khan, the Jaguars owner, spoke about the murky situation with Ramsey.

“This is a team sport,” Khan said. “I am very sensitive to individual needs, but we have to do the right things for the team.”

The best thing for the team can only mean two things as it pertains to Ramsey's trade request. First and foremost, they could follow through on his demands and send him to another team.

On the other hand, Jacksonville could decide to attempt to work things out with their disgruntled cornerback. Despite Ramsey planning to play on Thursday against the Tennessee Titans, they will likely choose to move on from their former first-round pick.

Earlier in the offseason, Ramsey expressed his desire to receive a contract extension from the Jaguars. Ramsey is amid the fourth season in his rookie deal and is set to make $3.6 million in 2019. Along with that, the team already picked up his fifth-year option for 2020.

To the dismay of the Jaguars cornerback, the team informed him they wouldn't be offering him an extension. Ramsey responded by sharing that he wouldn't give the Jaguars a ‘discount' on his next contract.

At 24 years old, Ramsey has already become arguably the best player at his position. Therefore, there are plenty of interested suitors for his services.

According to reports, the Jaguars are asking for two first-round picks for their talented defensive back. Up to this point, the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders are among a few teams who have shown interest.

The Jaguars don't seem to be in any rush to part ways with Ramsey but if he is traded after Thursday, he is unable to play on Sunday. The NFL trade deadline isn't until October 29th, so Jacksonville has plenty of time to coup the best trade package for their coveted cornerback.
