The Jacksonville Jaguars are trying to trade running back Carlos Hyde and defensive lineman Malik Jackson, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The Jaguars are looking to trade both players before the new league year begins on March 13.
Jacksonville originally acquired Hyde in late October in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, sending a fifth-round pick to the Browns in exchange for his services.
In eight games with the Jags, Hyde rushed for 189 yards while averaging a meager 3.3 yards per carry. In 2018 overall, he finished with 571 yards and five touchdowns, registering 3.3 yards per attempt.
The 28-year-old spent the first four years of his career with the San Francisco 49ers, putting together a couple of solid seasons in 2016 and 2017 before making his way to Cleveland.
Jackson appeared in all 16 contests this past season but was so disappointing that he was actually demoted to a reserve role after 10 games. He ended up with 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Jaguars originally signed Jackson to a massive six-year, $85.5 million contract in March 2016.
His first year with the club was productive, as he totaled 33 tackles, 6.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and four passes defended. Then, in 2017, Jackson had an outstanding season, racking up 40 tackles, eight sacks, and four forced fumbles en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.
Prior to joining Jacksonville in 2016, Jackson spent the first four years of his career with the Denver Broncos and was a part of a dominant defense that ended up winning a Super Bowl title during the 2015-16 campaign.
The Jags won just five games in 2018.
