In the last few weeks, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been without the services of star running back Leonard Fournette due to a bothersome hamstring injury.

This appears that it will extend through Week 7 action against the Houston Texans as he has been ruled for the game, according to Phillip Heilman of the Florida Times-Union.

This move was expected as Fournette has yet to put in a practice over the last couple of weeks as he has allowed his hamstring to heal. Fournette has been limited significantly by the injury as he has played in just two games where he recorded 71 rushing yards on 20 attempts along with four catches for 19 receiving yards. The Jaguars have leaned upon backup T.J. Yeldon in his absence as he has produced 299 rushing yards on 67 carries and a touchdown along with 25 receptions for 223 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Yeldon may not be the same type of talent in the ground game, he has provided much-needed stability with Fournette being out of the mix. The Jaguars have been able to lean on him to provide production despite the team's overall issues on that side of the ball with quarterback Blake Bortles struggling to play with any level of consistency this year. The team has been able to remain afloat that has seen them split the first six games of the season, but things appear to be trending south over the last few weeks as the team has dropped three out of their last four games scoring 14 points or fewer in each contest.

For the time being, Yeldon will continue to play a significant role in the offense while recently signed running back Jamaal Charles could also factor into the equation at a greater extent with the more playing time and comfort he gathers with the offensive game plan.
