An interesting story is developing with Nick Foles and the Jacksonville Jaguars after the team announced on Monday that the newly signed quarterback won't be attending OTAs.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports that Foles could be back with the Jaguars by the end of the week, but the absence is open-ended so it could be longer.

It's unclear what exactly is the reason for the absence, but coach Doug Marrone said his thoughts are with Foles during this time. These OTAs are still optional so players aren't required to attend, but Foles missing is noteworthy, especially with the notation that it is for personal reasons.

2018 sixth-rounder Tanner Lee, 2019 sixth-rounder Gardner Minshew and Alex McGough are the quarterbacks that will be picking up the snaps while Foles is gone.

Foles has attended the rest of the offseason workouts, and everyone has been impressed with what they have seen.

“The way he’s gone about it is very interesting,” Jaguars vice president of football operations Tom Coughlin said via Florida Football Insiders. “He works his teammates really, really well. You used the word ‘selfless.’ That’s the word he uses. I think the second day he’s here, he’s over at [Leonard] Fournette’s [house], and they’re going over installation for that day. . . .He’s out there working just like everybody else is out there working. And his presence is what’s important. It’s like that thing that I insinuate a lot: ‘Don’t tell me. Show me.’ Let’s stop so much verbiage, and let’s work it.”

Hopefully, Foles can get whatever he needs to be worked out, and he can be around the team soon.
