It came as a bit of a surprise for most that the Jacksonville Jaguars decided to place the franchise tag on Cam Robinson. Jaguars coach Urban Meyer has come out to try and shed light on the matter as he touched on Jacksonville's plans for the future.
According to Meyer, the Jaguars remain high on the 25-year-old offensive tackle:

We realize he has a great future. His ceiling is very high. I’ve studied him very much. I’ve spent some time with him.”
Robinson was set to become a free agent prior to the Jaguars' decision to tag him. However, this recent development means that he's going to remain in Jacksonville for at least one more year. For his part, Meyer seems excited by the prospect and he's very much looking forward to having Robinson in the squad for 2021:
“We feel that the way this free agency is moving is that the left tackle position, as always but even more now this year from hearing from the guys who have been in the NFL, this a tough year for that left tackle position. We (Jaguars) feel like with what’s just out there and with coaching, culture, and development, Cam [Robinson] has a lot of talent.”
The Jaguars still have a number of issues to address in free agency and there are a few positions that they will need to upgrade. As it is, however, the left tackle spot is something that they've now settled.
