With Jon Gruden back at the helm of the Oakland Raiders once again, there's been a lot of speculation about potential moves the new head coach might make ahead of the 2018 NFL season. Marshawn Lynch's future with the team has been one of the many hot topics in Oakland.

Recently, rumors surfaced about Lynch possibly blowing off meetings with Gruden. Marshawn's agent denied the rumors and now Gruden has confirmed he has spoken with the veteran running back. The head coach also admits he doesn't know whether Lynch will be back next season, via Jerry McDonald of The Mercury News.

“I don’t know. I bumped into him. Some of these players that live locally do come to the facility to get a workout, see the trainer. I’ve been downstairs and met several guys. I have talked to Marshawn briefly. We’ll see. We’ll keep everybody posted. Right now, he’s our leading ballcarrier. He’s our back, and we’re counting on him. Hopefully we get an opportunity to work together. that’s a man that has a lot of respect in this league as a player and I certainly have respect for him also.”

The Raiders are expected to make some drastic changes before next season with a few big-name players on the team potentially not being brought back. Oakland has already parted ways with David Amerson and longtime kicker, Sebastian Janikowski.

Along with the team already parting ways with two starters, Oakland might also release Lynch, Sean Smith, and Michael Crabtree. Nothing is set in stone at this point in time regarding what the future holds for these veteran players, but one thing is for certain, Gruden is making moves and molding the team to his liking moving forward.
