The Las Vegas Raiders made a couple of additions this offseason, including the signing of Marcus Mariota. With Mariota joining the Raiders' quarterback room, Las Vegas has released DeShone Kizer, per NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Kizer began his career as a second-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. In his rookie campaign, Kizer would mightily struggle, throwing for 2,894 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions.

Just a year after being drafted, Kizer was traded to the Green Bay Packers in exchange for Damarious Randall and draft picks. Similar to the Browns though, Kizer would only spend one season with the Packers before being released. In his lone season in Green Bay, the Notre Dame product finished with 187 yards and two interceptions on 42 attempts.

Upon his release from the Packers, the Raiders claimed Kizer off of waivers. Even though they had Derek Carr under center, Las Vegas believed they could help Kizer develop into a formidable backup. However, the former second-round pick would never suit up for the Raiders.

Seeing that Mariota is the obvious backup for Las Vegas next season, there was no reason to keep Kizer on the roster. Not to mention, Jon Gruden thinks the world of Nathan Peterman, a former starter for the Buffalo Bills.

It seems like forever ago that Kizer was selected with the No. 52 pick of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Browns. When he was first selected, some believed he could be the quarterback that finally figures it out in Cleveland.

Fast forward to three years from that draft and Kizer is no longer on a team.
