COVID-19 is taking its toll on the NFL and the Los Angeles Chargers appear to be the latest victim of the virus.
Standouts Joey Bosa and Austin Ekeler are heading to the COVID list and it's expected the team will have even more cases later on Monday. Via Daniel Popper of The Athletic:
C Corey Linsley, OLB Joey Bosa and RB Austin Ekeler are being placed on the COVID-19 list, per source. #Chargers dealing with a situation. More names expected later today.

Losing Linsley is also not ideal considering he is one of their main centers. But, Bosa and Ekeler will leave notable holes in the Chargers game plan. Bosa is 12th in the NFL with 9.5 sacks and he's one of the LA's most feared defenders. He has 43 total tackles on the season.
As for Ekeler, he's been a swiss army knife for Justin Herbert. The 26-year-old has rushed for 4.6 yards per carry in 2021 to go along with 10 touchdowns. He's also collected seven receiving touchdowns and just balled out in the Chargers' loss to the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football with a touchdown and 59 yards on the ground.
However, Los Angeles doesn't play again until Sunday. There is definitely a chance that both players could be cleared by then if they provide two negative results in a 24-hour span.
The Chargers do face the Houston Texans in Week 16 though, which shouldn't be too difficult. If Ekeler doesn't miss out, the team still has Justin Jackson available in the backfield, barring any setbacks with him. Jackson just had a massive game vs. KC.
