The final game of the season ended up being the game of the year. In what turned into an overtime thriller, the Los Angeles Chargers wound up losing to the Las Vegas Raiders. Of course, there was the potential of both teams tying for them to clinch a spot in the postseason. Now, Austin Ekeler and his teammates are done of the year.
According to Barstool Sports, Austin Ekeler is seen asking a Raiders player if they were going to kneel in the closing seconds of overtime. You can visibly see the Las Vegas player nod his head yes. However, it seems Vegas changed their mind as they ended up defeating the Chargers.
“Were you gonna kneel it?”

A tie is not common in the game of football, but in this scenario, it would have benefited both teams greatly. After going down early, the Chargers fought back and forced the game into overtime. From there, it was a back and forth battle, but the Raiders ultimately pulled out the victory.
Austin Ekeler had another solid performance, as he finished the evening with 99 total yards and two touchdowns. It was a wild scene on Sunday night, as the tie nearly came to fruition, which would have knocked the Pittsburgh Steelers out of the playoffs, allowing the Chargers and Raiders to advance.
It has been an insane season and the chase for the Super Bowl has just begun. Unfortunately for the Chargers, their year is finished and they enter the offseason. LA is close to becoming a legitimate contender and could find the right pieces in the summer.
