Two weeks ago, the Los Angeles Chargers were 8-5, about to play the Chiefs to retake the division lead. Two weeks later, they have lost two straight and have fallen out of the playoff picture. The Chiefs have already clinched the division and Los Angeles is looking up at the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins for the final wild card spot.
However, the Chargers received some much-needed good news on Thursday. According to the LA Times' Jeff Miller, the Chargers activated wide receiver Mike Williams and cornerback Michael Davis off of the league's COVID-19 reserve list.
WR Mike Williams and CB Michael Davis returned from COVID list and are practicing today for #Chargers. Practice squad edge rusher Emeke Egbule also back.

Williams is especially critical. On Sunday, Los Angeles hosts the Denver Broncos. The Chargers struggled offensively in their prior meeting against the Broncos. Quarterback Justin Herbert was picked off twice by Patrick Surtain II in a 28-13 loss. Denver has won four of the past five meetings between the two teams.
Article Continues BelowMike Williams was held to just 39 yards on four catches during the first meeting. Fellow wide receiver Keenan Allen did the majority of the work, reeling in seven catches for 85 yards. Neither player got into the end zone. That's something that will likely need to change in order for the Chargers to get back on track offensively.
The Chargers inexplicably lost to the Houston Texans last week, 41-29. Texans running back Rex Burkhead rushed for a career-high 149 yards and two touchdowns. The Broncos feature a two-headed attack at tailback with Melvin Gordon III and Javonte Williams.
Denver will try to keep the ball out of Herbert's hands. That makes it that much more important the Chargers are efficient offensively. That makes the return of Williams that much more valuable as he is the team's best deep threat.
