Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen saw his 2016 season end abruptly after tearing his ACL in the first game of the campaign.
However, Allen bounced back in a major way this past season that helped him earn the NFL Comeback Player of the Year award on Saturday night.

The 25-year-old put together the best season of his career by boasting career highs across the board with 102 catches for 1,393 receiving yards, and six touchdowns while playing in all 16 regular season games for the first time. He finished the season fourth in catches, which was also the most in a single season in franchise history topping Hall of Fame running back LaDainian Tomlinson's 100 in the 2003 campaign.

He joined Drew Brees (2004), and Philip Rivers (2013) as the only players in team history to earn the honor.
Allen posted eight games with at least 100 receiving yards while also becoming the first player in league history to notch three straight contests with at least 10 receptions, 100 receiving yards and one touchdown. He also had five or more catches 12 times including reaching that mark in last seven consecutive games to finish up the season.
This high level of production also helped him earn his first-career Pro Bowl selection. What has been remarkable about Allen's major turnaround is that he came back from two serious injuries as he had also suffered a lacerated kidney in the 2015 season after playing in just eight games.
This major comeback has thrust Keenan Allen into the conversation as being one of the elite wide receivers in the league. Although he doesn't possess breakaway speed, he is a game-changing player at the position that has big-play ability behind the strong chemistry he has formed with Rivers.
