Melvin Gordon is finding out pretty quickly that the market for him just isn't very strong.
Despite the fact that most of the high-profile free agents have been signed, Gordon remains without a new job. According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, Gordon hasn't received a contract offer anywhere near to what the Los Angeles Chargers had offered him.
Free agent RB Melvin Gordon is not getting anything remotely close to what the #Chargers offered him in training camp, per @MikeGarafolo.

For those that don't remember, the Chargers had offered Gordon $10 million per season last year. That contract offer didn't please Gordon, who sat out the first several weeks of the season in a holdout. After sitting out the first four games of last season, Gordon returned; but he did so after Austin Ekeler had proven himself as the starting back.
Fast forward several months later and Ekeler is a paid man. The 24-year-old Ekeler recently inked a four-year, $24.5 million contract extension with the Chargers. Meanwhile, Gordon is having a hard time just receiving a contract offer on the open market.

In other words, Gordon lost leverage by sitting out the first part of last season.
If it's any consolation, there are NFL teams interested in Gordon. Teams such as the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are teams of reported interest.
However, it's becoming clear that Gordon isn't going to be paid like an elite back. In fact, he might not even be a starter next season.
