The Los Angeles Chargers are now in the midst of a three-game losing streak after coming up short against the Tennessee Titans in week 7 of the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, quarterback Philip Rivers is not ready to press the panic button just yet.

There is no question that the Chargers have continued to fall vastly short of expectations this year. Rivers is still optimistic that they have all the tools necessary to bounce back, via Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times.

“I don’t think it’ll tear us apart,” Rivers said. “I mean, there’s a difference between tearing us apart and still just not ever getting it figured out. I don’t think it’ll tear us apart. It’s not something we can just talk ourselves into. We just got to keep working and keep believing that it’ll happen. And, I think we’ll do that. I think we’ve got the guys that’ll do that. It’s certainly going to be tough.”

It is undoubtedly encouraging to see that Rivers is still taking an optimistic approach heading into Week 8 amidst their current least streak. However, Los Angeles has now dug themselves in a hole that not even a potential resurgence may be enough to get them out of.

Oddly enough, the Chargers do find themselves in familiar territory since they have become accustomed to playing with their backs against the wall. This could be why Rivers is still holding out hope that this team will find a way to figure things out in the coming weeks.

Their attempts at a comeback will be much easier said than done as they prepare to hit the road to square off against the Chicago Bears before returning home to host the Green Bay Packers.
