The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions have both expressed interest in trading for Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

The Chargers have until the 4 p.m. ET trade deadline on Tuesday to move Melvin Gordon.

Gordon's situation in Los Angeles is interesting, to say the least.

The 26-year-old held out of training camp and preseason and the first several weeks of the regular season. The Chargers reportedly offered him a contract extension that would have paid him $10 million annually, but Gordon turned it down.

He finally returned for Week 5, but has been very unproductive ever since, rushing for 112 yards and a touchdown while averaging just 2.5 yards per carry. He has also logged 11 catches for 37 yards and a score.

Gordon is in the final year of his current deal and is making $4.6 million this season. With it looking unlikely that LA will re-sign him during the offseason, it would certainly make sense for the Bolts to trade him now, especially considering that he has not helped them much at all this year.

The Kenosha, Wi. native, who played his collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin, was originally selected by the Chargers in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft.

He had a disappointing rookie campaign, totaling just 641 yards while registering a meager 3.5 yards per carry. Since then, Gordon has made a couple of Pro Bowls, most recently earning a trip last year when he racked up 885 yards and 10 touchdowns, recording 5.1 yards per attempt. In addition, he hauled in 50 receptions for 490 yards and four scores.

The Chargers are just 3-4 on the season.
