With the NFL Draft approaching later this month, more and more rumors are beginning to spread about which teams like which players and who will rise and who will fall.
Right now, the hot rumor is that the Miami Dolphins are not all that enamored with Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and may end up taking Oregon's Justin Herbert at No. 5 instead.
That would leave Tagovailoa on the board at No. 6 for the Los Angeles Chargers, which begs the question: should the Chargers go ahead and nab Tagovailoa if he is there when their pick is up?
Los Angeles is obviously in need of a quarterback. Tyrod Taylor is currently listed as the starter, and the Chargers don't appear to be all that interested in Cam Newton, Jameis Winston or Andy Dalton.
That could certainly change, but as of right now, all seems quiet on the signal-caller front for LA.
Does that mean the Bolts are looking toward the draft? It's entirely possible.
A month or so ago, Tagovailoa was considered by just about everyone to be the second-best quarterback in this year's draft class behind LSU's Joe Burrow. Many still feel that way.
However, Herbert has been climbing up the charts, and it should be noted that he is not an injury risk like Tagovailoa.
But if Tagovailoa is there for the Chargers, they pretty much have to take him, as they may not get a chance to land a prospect like Tua again for quite some time.

These types of opportunities don't come around very often, so when they do, you need to pounce on them.
Again, I get the risk involved with Tagovailoa, but if he is on the board at No. 6, he's a snap pickup. Los Angeles just parted ways with Philip Rivers, so it is clearly looking to begin a new dawn under center. Taylor is not the freshest start the Chargers can make there, nor are any of the veteran quarterbacks I mentioned earlier.
Plus, if you look at Los Angeles' roster, it is actually pretty talented. The Chargers have weapons and they have a solid defense. Yes, they definitely need some help along the offensive line and they could use more pass rushers to support Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, but in terms of overall talent, they are not as barren as most of the other teams drafting in the top 10.
Let's remember that LA is now just two seasons removed from winning 12 games, so it's not like the Chargers have stunk for an extended period of time.
The point is that their primary need is under center, so why not draft Tagovailoa? He would have plenty of weapons at his disposal immediately, and he would almost certainly start from Day 1.
Los Angeles seems like just too perfect of a fit for Tagovailoa.
Either way, I think the Chargers should draft a quarterback, so it's either Tagovailoa or Herbert, but if the Dolphins do decide that Tua is too much of a risk, the Bolts should be there to scoop him up and take their chances.
