The Los Angeles Chargers have been dealing with a hold out all year. That would be from superstar running back Melvin Gordon.
Although it appears to be coming to an end, there was still a lot of drama while it was happening. Yes, it was overshadowed by the Ezekiel Elliott hold out and all the ridiculousness surrounding Antonio Brown.
However, there was one rumor that helped make the Gordon holdout stand out for a little bit. That was the rumor that he could be traded to the Houston Texans. It now appears that this rumor was somehow both false and true at the same time.
Was told Melvin Gordon was open to being traded to the Houston Texans early in the process, but the Chargers never really made trading Gordon to any team a viable option. Only choice was to report eventually, accrue the season toward free agency.

So the Chargers never really planned on trading Gordon. That makes it sound like they believe they can work something out. Or possibly that they'll take their chances in hopes of making a Super Bowl run.
However, Gordon was open to it. He apparently would've been fine with a trade to the Texans. So that could be where the rumors came from. Maybe it was even someone in his camp that got the rumor swirling.
Now it appears he's ending his holdout because he needs to have this season count towards free agency.
So what does this mean for Gordon's future though? It could mean absolutely nothing. However, it could also be very telling. Maybe his openness to being traded to the Texans speaks volumes. Could that be his first option in free agency? Or was he simply open to it because it was a way to get out of Los Angeles. We'll have to wait to find out.
