The Los Angeles Rams lost some marquee talent on the defensive side of the ball when edge-rusher Dante Fowler Jr. and linebacker Cory Littleton both departed in free agency.

But the Rams still have an all-world defensive talent in star tackle Aaron Donald, and it seems they might be looking for ways to fully utilize cornerback Jalen Ramsey's game-breaking abilities.

Ramsey had a conference call with reporters on Tuesday, suggesting he might play more of a hybrid role and see snaps all over the field, via Cameron DaSilva of USA TODAY.

“I’m very excited about the way I’m going to be utilized in this defense. I’ll leave it at that. I think my talents will be shown thoroughly – not just in one aspect, if you’re catching my gist,” he said.

The Rams parted ways with former defensive coordinator Wade Phillips in the offseason, with former Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos linebacker coach Brandon Staley stepping into that role.

Staley's 3-4 scheme is the same as that employed by Phillips. But it is possible he offers different looks and employs more changes on a weekly basis. This could include playing Ramsey–who is big and physical for a corner–at safety.

Ramsey played three games with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year before he was acquired by the Rams. But the former All-Pro was somewhat underwhelming in L.A., as opposing quarterbacks completed over 67 percent of their passes when targeting Ramsey.

However, Ramsey might have the chance to excel at safety. Typically physical in press coverage, it is possible Staley and the Rams mix things up wth Ramsey, using him as a blitzer or playing him up in the box to stuff the run.

Regardless, he still figures to cover the opposing teams' top wideout.
