The Super Bowl is two weeks away, and the Los Angeles Rams' Jared Goff will be facing off against a legend in the New England Patriots' Tom Brady.
Goff told Boston.com that he was only seven years old when he saw Brady first take the field in the Super Bowl, and he's been a fan of the quarterback ever since.
“It’s a guy that you’ve looked up to for so long. Now I get a chance to play in one with him. We do respect him, but I’m going to go out there and do my best and be the best I can be, and hopefully come out with a win.”
Goff is 17 years younger than Brady and is the same age now that Brady was when he first played the Super Bowl.
But Goff also said that he sees no advantage in his youth, especially when playing against a Super Bowl legend.
What's more, Goff said that he and Brady have similar backgrounds — both grew up in San Francisco, with Brady calling the Bay Area home and Goff claiming the ritzy Marin County as his home base — and have more in common than not.
That said, the first-round overall draft pick is still wondering if this will be enough to take a win for the Rams.
Goff will be going to the Super Bowl for the first time when he and the Rams play against Brady and the Patriots on Sunday, February 3rd in Atlanta.
