Have the New England Patriots found their successor to Tom Brady in 22-year-old Jarrett Stidham?

That's not too far from the truth, as New England's 2019 fourth-round pick Stidham has been impressing his teammates and coaching staff during the Patriots' training camp.

Via Charean Williams in NBC Sports' ProFootballTalk:

“He’s getting more comfortable. He has a live arm, can make any throw,” receiver Phillip Dorsett said. “I like Jarrett. It’s the National Football League, and he’s young. Coming in here is tough. A lot of stuff gets thrown at you really fast and changes on the move, so you have to be able to adjust. He’s doing all right.”

“He’s got good command. It’s tough being a quarterback on any team, especially on our offense,” running back James White said. “There’s a lot you have to know. He’s trying to put the work in, trying to learn as much as possible, and all of the young guys and us veterans are trying to make him feel comfortable and make some plays for him.”

The Patriots aren't in a rush to usurp future Hall of Fame QB Brady's starting role in the offense, but when the six-time Super Bowl champ's playing days are over, perhaps they already have a replacement holstered on the roster. The Boston area team also has backup QB Brian Hoyer on the team.
He's been with the organization since 2017; prior to that, however, the journeyman shot-caller spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with New England from 2009-11.
