The New England Patriots captured their sixth Super Bowl title with a win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, and they could not have done it without wide receiver Julian Edelman, who hauled in 10 receptions for 141 yards en route to winning Super Bowl MVP honors.
During the afterparty, hip-hop mogul Snoop Dogg paid his respect to Edelman, giving him props for his big performance:
“Yeah, the champs are here,” Snoop Dogg shouted, according to Nicole Yang of The Boston Globe. “The champs are here. Shoutout to mother******* Julian Edelman the MVP!”
Edelman then joined Snoop Dogg on stage and saluted the crowd to the tune of “M-V-P” chants.
“That’s my dog right there,” added Snoop. “I’ve been wearing your jersey all week. Seven days this week, man.”
The Super Bowl victory must have been particularly special for Edelman, as the wide out was sidelined during last year's Super Bowl loss against the Philadelphia Eagles due to a torn ACL.

On the season, Edelman caught 74 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns. He then snared 26 balls for 388 yards through the Patriots' playoff run.
Edelman, who played his collegiate football at Kent State University, was originally selected by New England in the seventh round (232nd pick overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft.
It took Edelman five years to become a significant part of the offense, as he registered 105 receptions for 1,056 yards and six scores during the 2013-14 campaign en route to winning his first Super Bowl.
