Los Angeles Rams legend Jackie Slater has a bit of a dilemma on his hands for this year's Super Bowl between the Rams and the New England Patriots.

While he played his entire 20-year career with the Rams, his son, Matthew Slater, is the Patriots' special teams captain.

But, of course, Jackie is doing what most fathers should do and will be rooting for his kid's team in the Super Bowl.

“I gave him a hard time, like, ‘Are you going to be coming to this game in Ram attire, waving a Ram towel?'” Matthew Slater said, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. “We had a good laugh. Ultimately I’m his son and he’s always going to support me and want to see me do the best I can and be successful. This coming weekend that will mean seeing the Patriots be successful, even against his old team.”

Jackie played two decades as an offensive lineman for the Rams between 1976 and 1975, making seven Pro Bowls and earning three First-Team All-Pro selections. He was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.

While Matthew does not have the same clout as his father did, he is still a fine player in his own right, stamping his name among the best special teams players in the league ever since he was drafted in 2008.

The younger Slater made seven consecutive Pro Bowls between 2011 and 2017, earning First-Team All-Pro honors in 2016.

This season, he registered 11 special teams tackles.

The Patriots will take on the Rams on Feb. 3.
