The New York Giants are positioned as well as any NFL team in the 2022 NFL Draft. Armed with two picks inside the top-10, the Giants are poised to perfectly execute general manager Joe Schoen's preferred strategy of building through the draft. Schoen will have his pick of some of the nation's top offensive lineman and pass rushers, which just so happen to be two areas of need for New York.
The Giants must address the offensive line with on one of their top two selections in the NFL Draft- and it appears that Schoen will get his chance, with at least one of the draft's top tackles likely to be there for the taking at pick no. 5. However, New York's defense was not adequate against the pass in 2021. In such a pass-heavy league, the Giants need to address that, as well.
Part of the reason the Giants struggled against the pass was due to a lack of a pass rush. Well, set to be available for the Giants is Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux, who, along with Aidan Hutchinson, is one of the top pass rushing prospects. Thibodeaux would be a perfect fit for the Giants. Here's why.

Why Kayvon Thibodeaux Is A Perfect Fit For The Giants
3. Thibodeaux is the pure NFL Draft pass rusher the Giants lack
Article Continues BelowIf there's one weakness in Thibodeaux's game, it's his ability to defend the run. In terms of pass rushing ability, there might be no one better than the Oregon product in the draft. Thibodeaux is able to rush the passer both with power and speed, a deadly combination for opposing lineman. The last time the Giants had a pass rusher with a similar build to Thibodeaux was Super Bowl champion Osi Umenyiora, who wreaked havoc on opposing offensive linemen. Thibodeaux is very capable of doing that in the NFL level and would instantly provide some punch to a unit that recorded just 34 sacks this past season.
2. Thibodeaux is part of an NFL Draft formula that has brought the Giants success in the past
The Super Bowl-winning Giants teams were strong in two areas- the offensive and defensive trenches. While the game has become much more pass-oriented since then, those two areas still remain key building blocks for a contender. Specifically, the Giants' teams in 2007 and 2011 were known for their superior pass rushes. Selecting Thibodeaux in the 2022 NFL Draft would get New York back to that strategy that enabled them to find success. An elite pass rusher has always been important in the NFL. However, it might not be more important than it is right now. Thibodeaux is the man for the Giants.

1. Thibodeaux is made for New York
Thibodeaux is from Los Angeles. He is no stranger to attention, media spotlight, or a big city. New York met with Thibodeaux and reportedly “gave him a hard time”, though the Ducks prospect said that it was like a “big brother moment.” Perhaps the Giants wanted to see what the Oregon star could handle. After all, if the Giants select Thibodeaux, he'll be walking into the wildest media scene he's ever laid his eyes on. However, it seems like Thibodeaux, who immediately mentioned that he's from a big city when asked about New York, would have little problem adjusting to the Big Apple.
