Former Washburn University standout Corey Ballentine visited the New York Giants facility for the first time since he was shot the night after being drafted, a source told NorthJersey.com.
This is the step in the right direction and hopefully, this means that Ballentine can get started with the Giants.
Ballentine was going out to celebrate with friends on April 28th after being drafted in Topeka and instead of a night of celebration Ballentine was shot and one of his friends was killed. The Giants advised Ballentine to skip rookie minicamp last week to celebrate the life of his friend.

It’s gonna be a process for him. But we’re excited about getting him. When you watch him on tape, you don’t see a Division II player. You see a talented football player that can run, jump, cover.”
The Giants have made it clear many times during the process that he was a victim of a crime, and he wasn't in the wrong in this situation. The best news for Ballentine is that he is expected to make a full recovery, and the next step is to try and make the Giants roster, which will start next week.
