Eli Manning may be entering his final season as quarterback of the New York Giants, as Daniel Jones seems ready to succeed him, and his contract expires after the 2019 campaign.
Manning has achieved many milestones under center for the Giants, and on opening day on Sunday, he will achieve another one, as he will become the first player in franchise history to have played 16 seasons with the club.
On Wednesday, the 38-year-old reflected on how much he has loved playing for Big Blue:

No one's enjoyed playing for this organization more than I have, and I’ve been appreciative of it. I have a great respect and love for the Giants and the whole history of the organization.”
Manning entered the NFL with the Giants back in 2004. Since then, he has won a couple of Super Bowl championships, winning Super Bowl MVP honors both times.
But over the last couple of years, Manning has clearly been on a decline, and since last winning the Super Bowl back during the 2011 campaign, New York has made the playoffs just once.
As a result, the Giants took Jones with the sixth overall pick of the NFL Draft back in April, and the general consensus is that if New York falls out of playoff contention at some point this season, Jones will supplant Manning as the starter to usher in a new era.
