Since being released from the Dallas Cowboys, star wide receiver Dez Bryant has made it abundantly clear that he wants to remain in the NFC East to play his now former team twice a year. This immediately made the three teams in the division possible landing spots.

Among those organizations, the New York Giants are the franchise Bryant singled out as having the most interest in joining. In wake of veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall's release on Thursday due to a failed physical, Giants general manager David Gettleman may have provided a subtle hint at the team potentially targeting the 29-year-old in free agency, according to Steve Popper of NorthJersey.com.

Marshall was set to be a $6.2 million salary cap hit for the 2018 campaign; his sudden release frees up $5.1 million for the team this offseason. This adds to the already $4.9 million cap space that the team possessed prior to that move that now puts the team at roughly $10 million of financial flexibility.

This could be just enough space to offer Bryant a respectable multi-year offer to join the mix to give them an even more formidable group of wide receivers Keep in mind, he stated that he would have been willing to take a pay cut had the Cowboys presented one to him rather than releasing him.

The fact that Bryant already has interest in joining the Giants could be a great launching point toward both sides getting a deal worked out in the near future. His addition brings aboard a proven wideout to line up on the outside opposite of All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr, which could potentially give New York the best duo in the league.
