On Sunday, the New York Giants picked up their first win of the 2025 NFL season with a home victory over the Los Angeles Chargers in Jaxson Dart's first regular season start as a pro. Dart didn't have an eye-popping game from a statistical perspective but still was able to lead his team to a win despite losing Malik Nabers with what has since been revealed as a torn ACL.

Up next for the Saints on the road, where they will look to make their record 2-3. This week, there has been some concern about a reported hamstring ailment that Dart has been dealing with. Recently, Dan Duggan of The Athletic broke down the latest update in that department.

“Jaxson Dart a full participant with the hamstring injury. He was wearing compression on his left leg by the time we came out for the end of practice. Russell Wilson added to the injury report after playing two snaps on Sunday,” reported Duggan on X, formerly Twitter. “It's a groin injury for Tyler Nubin.”

Evidently, Dart also has some personal beef with the Saints organization heading into the matchup.

“Jaxson Dart said he thought there was a chance the Saints would take him with the ninth pick. Said getting passed up put a chip on his shoulder,” reported Duggan.

A big opportunity for the Giants

The New Orleans Saints are one of the few winless teams left in the NFL, giving the Giants a great opportunity to inch closer to the .500 mark on the young season.

Dart should have more time in the pocket to operate against a weak New Orleans defense as compared to last week against the elite Chargers' unit. However, playing in front of the hostile Saints fans will present a sort of different challenge for the young quarterback. Perhaps Dart's vendetta against the franchise will help him out as he attempts to lead the Giants to victory.

In any case, the Giants and Saints are slated to kick things off on Sunday at 1:00 PM ET from New Orleans.
