Jabrill Peppers was a do it all with the Michigan Wolverines, and now with the New York Giants, he is expected to be a kick return option. Peppers was traded this offseason from the Cleveland Browns in a move that saw Odell Beckham Jr. sent out of the Big Apple.

The coaches for the Giants have already raved about Peppers and what he brings to the team, including his play on special teams.

“The guy is a for-sure ball-handler,” Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey said via nj.com. “Can make all the cuts full speed. He just brings juice.”

If McGaughey's comments give any hint, it sounds like Peppers could be the primary option, but he also believes there are other options who could play in the role.

“You never know how it shakes out,” McGaughey said. “It can be a situation where Jabrill might have just went on a [deep] route and he's tired. I'll be like, ‘Hey, come off the field,' and throw Corey out there. Who knows? Darius Slayton. Or it's a plus area [of field position], throw Golden Tate there and make sure we catch the ball.”

With the Browns, Pepper averaged 22 yards per kick return on 33 tries and averaged 7.3 yards on the 55 punt returns.

When the Browns traded away Beckham, they said they did so because they got a solid player back in Peppers. The hope is that he can show off some of his skills and be an impact player on defense and on special teams.
