As NFL teams begin to prepare for the offseason to come to an end and start heading to OTAs, the New York Giants will be without one of their main contributors on the offensive line.
The #Giants rebuilt offensive is set to go through the spring without starting LT Nate Solder. Sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo that Solder had arthroscopic surgery to clean out his ankle after dealing with bone spurs and that’ll be back by training camp. Not considered major.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, left tackle Nate Solder will miss all of the spring activities for the Giants after having arthroscopic surgery to clean out his ankle. The surgery comes as a result of dealing with bone spurs throughout his career, and the rehab time should take Solder just up to training camp, which he’ll be ready for.
Thankfully for Solder and the Giants, there are no significant concerns over the surgery, and Solder should be making a full recovery. Unfortunately for them, however, they’ll be missing a key piece as the team begins to insert some new offensive schemes and plans onto the team. Even though Solder won’t be able to take part in on-field activities, he should be able to at least begin learning the playbook to hit the ground running once training camp begins.
After another disastrous 2018 season, the Giants will be hoping to bounce back in 2019, although without superstar wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Although the team is still talented and features some big names, the NFC East is a competitive division, and the Giants will need to be on their best every week to stay afloat. With this possibly being Eli Manning’s last year, the Giants hope to go out with one last playoff run for their two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback. In order to do that, they’ll need a strong offensive line, with Solder anchoring the blind spot.
