The Giants were the source of some unwanted attention earlier in the year when it seemed like the entire team was hurt (or suspended in the case of Golden Tate).
However, they're getting a lot of that star power back. Sterling Shepard returning is major news. The Giants traded away Odell Beckham Jr. and signed Tate to replace him. Tate is out for the first few weeks though, so that weakened their receiving corps.
Shepard being out would've made things extremely tough for Daniel Jones or Eli Manning (whoever ends up being the Week 1 starter) for quite some time. Now they have one of their top targets back, and things have gotten a lot easier.
Article Continues BelowAlec Ogletree is a big get too. The linebacker made quite a few big plays last year and can help to solidify that defense.
The Giants have an interesting start to their season. The first game is against divisional rivals, the Dallas Cowboys. Then they play games against the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Following that, they have another division rival in the Washington Redskins.
That's a stretch that could see them start the year in a number of different ways. Two games against division rivals could always go anyway. Meanwhile, the other two games are winnable. Having some of their best players on both sides of the ball ready to go for week 1 is a good omen.
Now the question is if the New York Giants can capitalize on the team getting healthy at the right time.
