The New York Giants were looking to make some big moves during the 2019 NFL Draft. After snagging their quarterback of the future in Daniel Jones with the No. 6 overall pick, they tried to trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars to move up for pass rusher Josh Allen. Obviously, the Jaguars didn't make that deal.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Giants made an attempt to trade up and get Allen to go along with Jones.

Getting a pass rushing talent like Allen would have been huge for the Giants. They would have gotten off to a quick start to their current rebuild by getting both of those players.

Allen has gotten off to a hot start this season with the Jaguars. In the three games he has played, Allen has racked up six solo tackles to go along with two sacks and a forced fumble. He looks like a potential star in the future.

New York handed over the keys of the franchise to Daniel Jones this week. Making the decision to bench Eli Manning came earlier than expected, but the Giants felt that the timing was right. Jones showed them that they made the right decision in a crazy comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Now, the Giants will have to look to find pass rushers elsewhere. Allen, on the other hand, will continue being a huge part of the Jacksonville defense moving forward.
