It's no exaggeration to say that the New York Giants are struggling to get things done on the field. In spite of the talent they have on the roster, they still fail to finish games they could win and add to their win column.
It seems like the team has had enough of their losing ways and are organizing a players-only meeting to address the areas where they're lacking and see how they can improve in the remaining games of the season.
Jordan Raanan reports the team's intentions of holding the meeting.
The Giants players said there will be a players-only meeting on Monday. They already had one several weeks back. Who called the meeting for Monday? “All 53 players,” per defensive captain Alec Ogletree.

The meeting was initiated after the Giants fell short by five points against the Detroit Lions, a team with one of the worst pass defenses in the league. The fact that they couldn't do anything against a team whose offense barely covers for their terrible defense isn't something the players and their passionate fans can be happy about.

Jabril Peppers adamant they can’t keep saying the same things over and over. The little things are killing this team. TE Evan Engram said it’s the “team that has to look in mirror.” Giants have lost four straight.

Of course, no one expects the Giants to actually achieve anything this season. This is their first season with Daniel Jones, and it may take the entire season until he manages to become fully acclimated to the speed of the pro game. Moreover, no pep talk can make up for the less-than-desirable offensive line they have. The 18 sacks Jones went through this year is a testament to how terrible his protection has been.
While it's unlikely that things will magically improve after this meeting, fans will be happy to know that they're serious about competing. It will be interesting to see how the Giants will bounce back after this meeting.
