Odell Beckham Jr. and the New York Giants came into Week 5 against the Carolina Panthers knowing they needed a win. Not only did they need a win, but they needed to find a way to get their offense going. New York knew prioritizing getting Beckham going was a major need to fix the issues they have had.

Unfortunately, the Giants were unable to win the game. They lost on a field goal as time expired by a final score of 33-31. The offense, however, was something that they can be happy about despite the loss.

Beckham and company finally broke out with a big performance. Eli Manning looked confident for the first time in a long time, and the offense put up 31 points.

New York did see Beckham make history this week, becoming the first Giants' player in 59 years to throw and catch a touchdown in the same game, as noted by ESPN Stats & Info on Twitter.

That's right, Beckham threw a touchdown pass. Not only was it a touchdown pass, it was a 57-yard passing touchdown. Take a look at the play for yourself!

In addition to that highlight, Beckham also made one of his patented one-handed grabs off of a high throw from Manning.

Beckham's receiving touchdown came on a huge 33-yard pass from Manning. This was exactly the kind of game that the Giants needed from their superstar wide receiver.

Following the loss, the Giants are now 1-4 through the first five weeks of the 2018 NFL season. It is not where they wanted to be, but they are not giving up just yet. The offense may have figured some of their issues out this week, which would be a huge part of getting them back on track moving forward.

Expect to see this game jumpstart Beckham and the Giants' offense. They may not end up being a playoff team, but the offense should not be struggling the way it had before today's breakout performance.
